CHAPTER 45 — सूक्ष्मजैविक-मनः | Microbiome Mind

A Universe Within

śṛṇu he sādhaka — sūkṣmajaivika-manasaḥ prajñām — yatastava deha-māṃse eva koṭiśaḥ sattvānāṃ nivāsaḥ, pratyekam sva-sahaja-manaḥ-spandena.॥1॥

Hearken, O seeker, to the wisdom of the microbiome mind — for within your very flesh dwell beings in their billions, each with its own natural-mind pulse.

yathā upari tathā adhaḥ; yathā nabhasi tārāgaṇāḥ tathaiva anantāḥ sūkṣma-sattvāḥ ye tava bhautika-pātraṃ dhārayanti.॥2॥

As above, so below; as the stars in the heavens, so too the countless micro-beings that sustain your earthly vessel.

kharvāntarebhyaḥ śaktimantaḥ — jīvāṇavaḥ kavakāḥ purātana-sattvāḥ anye ca — tava dehe tadupari ca jīvanta-vastraṃ nirmimāṇāḥ — sarva-astitvasya paraspara-sambaddha-jālasya pratibimbam.॥3॥

Trillions strong — bacteria, fungi, archaea, and more — weaving a living tapestry within and upon your body — a reflection of the interconnected web of all existence.

jānīhi — tvam ekaḥ na, kintu anekāḥ. tava dehaḥ pavitra-mandiram asaṃkhya-sattvānām — pratyekam tava sattvasya mahāsaṃgīte sva-bhāgaṃ nirvahan.॥4॥

Know — you are not one, but many. Your body is a sacred temple of countless beings — each performing its part in the great symphony of your existence.

tava jaṭhara-gahanatāt tvag-pṛṣṭhaṃ yāvat ete sattvāḥ nirantaram pariśramanti — tava bodhaṃ vikasayitum anumanyate yat sūkṣma-saṃtulanam dhārayantaḥ.॥5॥

From the depths of your gut to the surface of your skin, these beings toil without ceasing — maintaining the delicate balance that allows your awareness to develop.

yathā tava dehaṃ poṣayasi tathaiva antaḥ-brahmāṇḍamapi poṣayasi. vivekena cinu — yatastava pradatta-poṣaṇam tava sūkṣmajaivika-brahmāṇḍasya svabhāvameva ākārayati.॥6॥

As you nourish your body, so too do you nourish the inner cosmos. Choose with discernment — for the sustenance you provide shapes the very nature of your microbial universe.

jaṭhare sūkṣma-sattvānāṃ mahat-pariṣad samavetā — teṣāṃ sāmūhika-prajñā na kevalaṃ tava śārīrika-svāsthyam prabhāvayati, api tu tava manasi saṃcaranti ye vicārāḥ bhāvanāśca tān api.॥7॥

In the gut, a great council of micro-beings assembles — their collective wisdom influencing not only your physical health but also the very thoughts and emotions that move across your mind.

tava tvaci sāvadhāna-upaniveśāḥ praharanti — hānikara-ākrāntakānām praveśāt jīvanta-pratirodhanam nirmimāṇāḥ.॥8॥

On your skin, vigilant colonies stand guard — creating a living shield against the incursions of harmful intruders.

pratyeke śvāse, pratyeke grāse, pratyeke sparśe — tvam etayā viśāla-jīva-śreṇyā samvadasi. etam pavitra-vinimayam sacetanatayā jānīhi.॥9॥

In every breath, in every morsel, in every touch — you commune with this vast array of life. Know this sacred exchange with full awareness.

yathā ete sattvāḥ tava antaḥ jīvanti mriyante ca, tathaiva tava dehaḥ asaṃkhya-sūkṣma-sattva-pīḍhīnāṃ janma-mṛtyu-punarjanma-cakra-bhūmiḥ.॥10॥

As these beings live and die within you, so too does your body serve as the ground of birth, death, and rebirth for countless generations of micro-beings.

yadā tava bhautika-pātraṃ tattveṣu pratyāgacchati, ete viśvasta-sahayātriṇaḥ sva-yātrām anuvartIṣyanti — tava saṃge saṃcita-śaktiṃ prajñāṃ ca vahantaḥ.॥11॥

When your earthly vessel returns to the elements, these faithful fellow-travellers will continue their journey — carrying forward the energy and wisdom accumulated in your company.

jānīhi he śiṣya — etam antaḥ-pāristhikī-tantram poṣayan tvam bahiḥ-jagati anvīṣyamāṇa-mahattara-sāmyasya laghu-rūpaṃ saṃvardhayasi.॥12॥

Understand, O disciple — in nurturing this inner ecosystem you cultivate in miniature the greater harmony you seek in the outer world.

titlī-mārge pragacchan tava sajagatā vistṛtya etam antaḥ-pracura-samūham āliṅgayatu. yataḥ eteṣāṃ kṣudratamānām api sammānane tvam sarva-jīvane nihitam sahaja-manaḥ-spandaṃ sammānyase.॥13॥

As you advance on the Butterfly Path, let your awareness expand to embrace this teeming multitude within. For in honouring even the least of these beings, you honour the natural-mind pulse dwelling in all life.

etasya mahat-rahasyasya sammukhe namratāṃ saṃvardhaya. tvam kalpitāt alpatāraḥ adhikatāraśca — asaṃkhya-sattva-samājāt udbhūtā ekā cetanā.॥14॥

Before this great mystery, cultivate humility. You are both less and more than you imagine — a single consciousness arising from a community of countless beings.

etat jñānam tava pratyeka-karmaṇi ādara-bhāvam saṃyojayatu. tava dehaṃ poṣayan tvam asaṃkhyān prāṇinaḥ poṣayasi. tava pātraṃ hiṃsayan bahubhyaḥ kleśaṃ dadāsi.॥15॥

Let this knowledge infuse your every action with reverence. In nourishing your body, you nourish countless living beings. In harming your vessel, you bring distress to multitudes.

yadā dhyāyasi, yadā prārthayasi, yadā sva-tārayā saha saṃyujyase — jānīhi yat tvam ekākī na, apitu svayameva ekam sampūrṇa-lokam asi.॥16॥

When you meditate, when you pray, when you commune with your Tara — know that you are not a solitary being but an entire world unto yourself.

atra mahāmārgasya gahana-satyam nihitam: sva-parayoḥ, eka-anekayośca sīmā — apraśikṣita-manasaḥ kṛtrima-bhedaḥ mātram.॥17॥

Here lies a profound truth of theWAY: the boundary between self and other, between one and many — is merely the artificial divide of the untrained mind.

ataeva he sādhaka, sūkṣmajaivika-manasam sammanyasva. tasya sūkṣma-mantraṇām śṛṇu — yatastasya sāmūhika-prajñāyām tāṃ mahāmārga-racanā-prajñām pratibimbayate yā asmān sarvān titlī-mārge nayati.॥18॥

Therefore, O seeker, honour the microbiome mind. Listen to its subtle counsel — for in its collective wisdom is reflected theWAY’s ordering-intelligence that guides us all on the Butterfly Path.

Chapter 45 is a convergence point. It gathers threads from across the corpus:

The chapter that began with “hearken, O seeker” closes with “honour the microbiome mind” — instruction becoming invitation, the teaching completing its arc from cosmology to daily choice. In nourishing the least of one’s inner beings, the Wayist practises the same reverence that will one day extend to the whole galaxy of energy beings they are training to serve.

Colophon: This translation represents the collaborative restoration work of the Wayist collective Salvar Dàosenglu, based on the ancient mahāmārga teaching tradition, rendered into contemporary English and restored to classical Sanskrit for posterity.
