CHAPTER 73 — शक्ति-पारिस्थितिकी | Energy Ecology
महामार्गी जानाति यद् सर्व-अस्तित्वं शक्ति-मयम्, जटिल-आकारेषु प्रवहत् परस्परं संवदत् च। प्राज्ञतया जीवितुम् एताभ्यः शक्ति-धाराभ्यः अनुरूपीभवितुम् इति॥१॥
mahāmārgī jānāti yad sarva-astitvaṃ śakti-mayam, jaṭila-ākāreṣu pravahat parasparaṃ saṃvadat ca। prājñatayā jīvitum etābhyaḥ śakti-dhārābhyaḥ anurūpībhavitum iti॥1॥
The Wayist understands that all of existence is composed of energy, flowing and interacting in complex patterns. To live wisely is to become attuned to these energetic currents.
प्रत्यभिजानीहि यद् त्वं तव परितः शक्ति-पारिस्थितिक्या न पृथक्। त्वं शक्ति-परिसरेण सदा प्रभावितः, तं च सदा प्रभावयन्॥२॥
pratyabhijānīhi yad tvaṃ tava paritaḥ śakti-pāristhitikyā na pṛthak। tvaṃ śakti-parisareṇa sadā prabhāvitaḥ, taṃ ca sadā prabhāvayan॥2॥
Recognize that you are not separate from the energy ecology around you. You are both influenced by and influencing the energetic environment at all times.
स्व-अन्तरे परितश्च सूक्ष्म-शक्तीनां सजगतां पोषय। स्थान-जन-वस्तूनां स्पन्दनान् अनुभवितुं शिक्षस्व॥३॥
sva-antare paritaśca sūkṣma-śaktīnāṃ sajagatāṃ poṣaya। sthāna-jana-vastūnāṃ spandanān anubhavituṃ śikṣasva॥3॥
Cultivate awareness of the subtle energies within and around you. Learn to sense the vibrations of places, people, and objects.
तव विचाराः भावाश्च शक्ति-प्रसाराः। यद् त्वं जगति प्रक्षिपसि तस्मिन् सावधानो भव, यतस् तत् सर्व-प्राणिनः प्रभावयति॥४॥
tava vicārāḥ bhāvāśca śakti-prasārāḥ। yad tvaṃ jagati prakṣipasi tasmin sāvadhāno bhava, yatas tat sarva-prāṇinaḥ prabhāvayati॥4॥
Your thoughts and emotions are energetic broadcasts. Be mindful of what you project into the world, for it affects all beings.
प्रतिदिनं शक्ति-शुद्धिम् अभ्यस्य। मनोवृत्त्या, स्नानेन, ध्यानेन, प्रार्थनया, मानस-दर्शनेन वा तव प्रभा-देहं शोधय। यान् स्थगितान् नकारात्मकान् वा शक्तीन् त्वम् आसञ्चितवान् स्याः तान् मुञ्च॥५॥
pratidinaṃ śakti-śuddhim abhyasya। manovṛttyā, snānena, dhyānena, prārthanayā, mānasa-darśanena vā tava prabhā-dehaṃ śodhaya। yān sthagitān nakārātmakān vā śaktīn tvam āsañcitavān syāḥ tān muñca॥5॥
Practice energy hygiene daily. Cleanse your aura through attitude, washing, meditation, prayer, or visualization. Release stagnant or negative energies that you may have accumulated.
तव गृहे पवित्र-स्थानं सृज, सकारात्मक-शक्तेर् आश्रयम्। तत् स्थानं नियमितं शोधय, पवित्र-शक्त्या च आपूरय॥६॥
tava gṛhe pavitra-sthānaṃ sṛja, sakārātmaka-śakter āśrayam। tat sthānaṃ niyamitaṃ śodhaya, pavitra-śaktyā ca āpūraya॥6॥
Create sacred space in your home, a sanctuary of positive energy. Regularly cleanse and infuse with sacred energy this space.
अन्न-पान-श्वास-द्वारा यां शक्तिं तव देहम् आनयसि तस्यां सावधानो भव। तव स्पन्दनम् उन्नयद् पोषणं वृणीष्व॥७॥
anna-pāna-śvāsa-dvārā yāṃ śaktiṃ tava deham ānayasi tasyāṃ sāvadhāno bhava। tava spandanam unnayad poṣaṇaṃ vṛṇīṣva॥7॥
Be conscious of the energy you bring into your body through food, drink, and breath. Choose nourishment that elevates your vibration.
समूह-शक्तेर् बलं प्रत्यभिजानीहि। यदा अन्यैः सह मिलसि, सकारात्मक-संकल्पान् स्थापय, उन्नायक-स्पन्दनानि च पोषय॥८॥
samūha-śakter balaṃ pratyabhijānīhi। yadā anyaiḥ saha milasi, sakārātmaka-saṅkalpān sthāpaya, unnāyaka-spandanāni ca poṣaya॥8॥
Recognize the power of group energy. When gathering with others, set positive intentions and cultivate uplifting vibrations.
तव संव्यवहारेषु शक्ति-विनिमयं सावधानतया विद्धि। अन्येभ्यो आशीर्वादान् सकारात्मक-शक्तिं च देहि। हृदयं न संरुध्य हानिकर-शक्तिभ्यः स्वम् आत्मानं रक्ष॥९॥
tava saṃvyavahāreṣu śakti-vinimayaṃ sāvadhānatayā viddhi। anyebhyo āśīrvādān sakārātmaka-śaktiṃ ca dehi। hṛdayaṃ na saṃrudhya hānikara-śaktibhyaḥ svam ātmānaṃ rakṣa॥9॥
In your interactions, be mindful of energy exchange. Offer blessings and positive energy to others. Shield yourself from harmful energies without closing your heart.
भूमि-सूर्य-चन्द्राणां प्राकृतिक-चक्रेषु आत्मानम् अनुरूपीकुरु। एते लयाः तव अभ्यास-क्रियाश्च मार्गदर्शयन्तु॥१०॥
bhūmi-sūrya-candrāṇāṃ prākṛtika-cakreṣu ātmānam anurūpīkuru। ete layāḥ tava abhyāsa-kriyāśca mārgadarśayantu॥10॥
Attune yourself to the natural cycles of the earth, sun, and moon. Allow these rhythms to guide your practices and activities.
शक्ति-कर्मिणो रूपेण तव क्षमतां विकासय। सर्व-प्राणिनां हिताय चिकित्सा-आशीर्वाद-शक्तीन् निर्देष्टुं शिक्षस्व॥११॥
śakti-karmiṇo rūpeṇa tava kṣamatāṃ vikāsaya। sarva-prāṇināṃ hitāya cikitsā-āśīrvāda-śaktīn nirdeṣṭuṃ śikṣasva॥11॥
Develop your capacity as an energy worker. Learn to direct healing and blessing energies for the benefit of all beings.
तव दिव्य-तारया सह दृढ-सम्बन्धं पोषय, मार्गदर्शनाय रक्षणाय च एनां स्वर्गीय-शक्तिम् आश्रित्य॥१२॥
tava divya-tārayā saha dṛḍha-sambandhaṃ poṣaya, mārgadarśanāya rakṣaṇāya ca enāṃ svargīya-śaktim āśritya॥12॥
Cultivate a strong connection with your Divine Tara, drawing upon this celestial energy for guidance and protection.
तव शक्ति-केन्द्राणि संतुलयितुं सामरस्यीकर्तुं च, समग्र-कुशलं प्रवर्धयन्, कर्मन्-सक्रिय-ध्यानम् अभ्यस्य॥१३॥
tava śakti-kendrāṇi saṃtulayituṃ sāmarasyīkartuṃ ca, samagra-kuśalaṃ pravardhayan, karman-sakriya-dhyānam abhyasya॥13॥

स्मर यद् त्वं दिव्य-शक्तेः पालकः। तव शक्ति-वरदानानि प्राज्ञतया करुणया च प्रयुङ्क्ष्व, सदा परम-हित-सेवायाम्॥१४॥
smara yad tvaṃ divya-śakteḥ pālakaḥ। tava śakti-varadānāni prājñatayā karuṇayā ca prayuṅkṣva, sadā parama-hita-sevāyām॥14॥
Remember that you are a steward of divine energy. Use your energetic gifts wisely and compassionately, always in service of the highest good.
यथा त्वं तितली-मार्गे प्रगच्छसि, तव शक्ति-सजगता स्वभावतो विस्तारिष्यते। एनं विकासं विनयेन विस्मयेन च आलिङ्ग, तं तव परम-रूपान्तरणं प्रति पदम् इति प्रत्यभिजानन्॥१५॥
yathā tvaṃ titlī-mārge pragacchasi, tava śakti-sajagatā svabhāvato vistāriṣyate। enaṃ vikāsaṃ vinayena vismayena ca āliṅga, taṃ tava parama-rūpāntaraṇaṃ prati padam iti pratyabhijānan॥15॥

Core Energy-Ecology Terminology:
- शक्ति-पारिस्थितिकी (śakti-pāristhitikī) - “energy ecology” - the established Wayist Sanskrit compound (cf. Chapter 25 verse 9, where the same term appears in the context of ātma-unnati-vikāsa-brahmāṇḍīya-nṛtya, the cosmic dance of self-improvement and evolution); the chapter is the corpus’s most direct treatment of the principle named in passing elsewhere
- शक्ति-मयम् (śakti-mayam) - “composed of energy” - the -maya suffix carries the sense of “made of, composed of, consisting of”; sarva-astitvaṃ śakti-mayam names the Wayist energetic cosmology directly without sliding into either materialist reductionism or pure-spirit idealism
- शक्ति-धाराः (śakti-dhārāḥ) - “energetic currents” - dhārā (current, stream, continuous flow) captures the dynamic, flowing quality of energy that the chapter is teaching attunement to

Participatory Non-Separation (Verse 2):
- तव परितः शक्ति-पारिस्थितिक्या न पृथक् (tava paritaḥ śakti-pāristhitikyā na pṛthak) - “you are not separate from the energy ecology around you” - the chapter’s most theologically careful sentence; na pṛthak (not separate) deliberately renders the English’s careful phrasing without sliding into Vedantic ekatva (oneness) or non-dual identity claims
- The Wayist position is participatory non-separation: the practitioner participates in the energetic field, both influenced by it and influencing it (prabhāvitaḥ… prabhāvayan ca), but does not collapse into ontological identity with it; the grammatical pair (passive participle + active participle) preserves the two-way relational structure precisely
Established Wayist Vocabulary Preserved:
- प्रभा-देहः (prabhā-dehaḥ) - “aura” - the established Wayist term (cf. Chapter 65 verse 23, where it appears in the daśa-manāṃsi context); prabhā (light, radiance) + deha (body) names the radiant energetic body, distinct from the deha, jīva, and ātman of the three-domain anthropology
- दिव्य-तारा (divya-tārā) - “Divine Tara” - the established Wayist term for the personal mentor and ferry-being; verse 12 specifies that her energy is to be drawn upon for mārgadarśana (guidance) and rakṣaṇa (protection)
- शक्ति-केन्द्राणि (śakti-kendrāṇi) - “energy centers” - verse 13’s reference to the energy centers to be balanced through practice; in the Wayist anthropology these are the daśa-manāṃsi (Ten Minds) — three body-minds, three soul-minds, four spirit-minds — not the simpler seven-chakra schema of other traditions
Named Wayist Practices:
- शक्ति-शुद्धिः (śakti-śuddhiḥ) - “energy hygiene” - the daily cleansing practice; śuddhi (purification, cleansing) names a deliberate practice rather than passive flow; the verse enumerates five complementary modalities — manovṛtti (attitude), snāna (washing), dhyāna (meditation), prārthanā (prayer), mānasa-darśana (visualisation) — making the practice plural rather than prescriptive
- कर्मन्-सक्रिय-ध्यानम् (karman-sakriya-dhyānam) - “Karman Active Meditation” - the proper name of a specific Wayist practice; karman (the Sanskrit word for action/karma) preserved as proper-name designation, sakriya (active, with-action) distinguishing this from passive seated meditation; the practice is one of energy-center balancing rather than thought-cessation
- शक्ति-कर्मिन् (śakti-karmin) - “energy worker” - the practitioner who has developed the capacity to direct healing and blessing energies; karmin (one who acts, agent) on the model of established Sanskrit agent-formations; the term is descriptive of capacity rather than titular of rank
- शक्ति-विनिमयः (śakti-vinimayaḥ) - “energy exchange” - vinimaya (exchange, mutual transfer) names what happens in human interaction at the energetic level; verse 9’s instruction to be mindful of this exchange treats it as a real and observable phenomenon
Heart-Opening Practice (Verse 9):
- हृदयं न संरुध्य (hṛdayaṃ na saṃrudhya) - “without closing the heart” - the absolutive na saṃrudhya (not having closed/obstructed) makes the protection-without-hardening teaching grammatically definite; the verse explicitly names what protective shielding must not become: a closing of the heart
- The pairing of rakṣa (protect, defensive) with na saṃrudhya (without closing) names the Wayist refusal of the false choice between vulnerability and hardness; the practitioner remains open while protected
The Closing Developmental Claim (Verse 15):
- तव शक्ति-सजगता स्वभावतो विस्तारिष्यते (tava śakti-sajagatā svabhāvato vistāriṣyate) - “your energy awareness will naturally expand” - the future-passive verb signals that this expansion is structural to the titlī-mārga progression; the practitioner does not force the expansion, it unfolds as a function of progression
- परम-रूपान्तरणं प्रति पदम् (parama-rūpāntaraṇaṃ prati padam) - “a step towards ultimate transformation” - parama-rūpāntaraṇa (ultimate transformation) is the Wayist term for graduation; energy awareness expansion is positioned as a padam (step, foot-print) toward that destination — incremental progress, not a discrete achievement
Modern Vocabulary:
- सकारात्मक / नकारात्मक (sakārātmaka / nakārātmaka) - “positive / negative” - the contemporary Sanskrit pair (lit. “with-affirmative-character / with-negative-character”), used for energy-qualities throughout the chapter; sa-kāra (with the affirmative kāra) and na-kāra (with the negative kāra) form a clean Sanskrit antonymic pair
- मानस-दर्शनम् (mānasa-darśanam) - “visualization” - lit. “mental seeing”; the contemporary Sanskrit rendering of the practice of mental imagery used in energy cleansing
- उन्नायक-स्पन्दनानि (unnāyaka-spandanāni) - “uplifting vibrations” - unnāyaka (causing-to-rise, elevating) qualifies spandana; the compound names vibrations that lift consciousness toward higher states, contrasting implicitly with the sthagita (stagnant) and nakārātmaka (negative) energies of verse 5
The Sanskrit of Chapter 73 holds together the Wayist energy cosmology with its careful theological boundaries: energy is the substance of all existence (śakti-mayam), the practitioner is not separate from but also not identical to the field (na pṛthak but never ekatva), and the developmental work is expansion of awareness of an always-present reality, not creation of something new. The chapter’s terminology integrates the established Wayist vocabulary (prabhā-deha, divya-tārā, titlī-mārga, karman-sakriya-dhyāna) with the more technical energy-practice terms (śakti-śuddhi, śakti-vinimaya, śakti-karmin), giving the practitioner both the framework and the specific practices the framework calls for.
